2 GIGS

Once again thank you for checking out my site..In the last two weeks there have been two great gigs that I would like to share with you. The first one on feb. the 9th was with my band in Wheeling, WV at The Stifel Center. Part of the Olgelbay Institute, The Stifel center is an old Victorian mansion that is a cultural center for music, art, and dance. We played this gig acoustically, in the gallery, making use of their one of a kind Steinway grand piano. The guys on the gig were Ian Gordon(tpt), Jeff Beck(bs), and MF alumni David Throckmorton(dr), Matt Parker(ts), and Jeff Lashway(pno). Matt got a good mini disc recording on this gig and I will be posting a couple of tracks on the web soon. The gig was sold out to a soulful and educated audience of about 100+. i was honored to have my mom and dad at that gig as well. It's also worth mentioning that Geoff Peterson and his Lady drove up from Virgina (about 8 hrs.) to check out the gig. They were die hard MF fans and always were front row at Blues Alley to hear Maynard. Thanks Geoff!!

Gig #2.. with the Boogie Hustlers on feb 15th at The Hard Rock Cafe at Station Square was incredible. If you have'nt heard this band live..it's a must. They have a strong connection with their audience and everyone always walks away with a great feeling.. including the members of the band. The buzz from this gig lasted for days!! On the gig was Gene Stovall, Margot B., Howie Alexander, Rick Matt, Sean Reager(founder), and the rest of the BH crew(Dave on Drums, Ryan on Guitar, Barefoot on bass) ..this band is soulful and funky and rich in lyrical and musical content. The latest Boogie Hustlers cd is called True Colors and I urge you to check it out!!

There are some great gigs lined up for the near future and I hope you can make some of them...please check my calender here and at my myspace page. Peace and Love..RW
